Abby lost her second tooth yesterday evening, and when Joe mentioned that the Tooth Fairy would probably bring her a whole dollar during the night,
Abby put her hands on her hips and declared, "No! I want a quarter!"
Joe chuckled at her indignance, but before he could answer her, she sighed, "Ok, how about a nickel?"
That might be the first and last time she demands less than what is offered. The Tooth Fairy should take advantage while He (or she) can! Right? Abby woke up with 4 quarters under her pillow, and no tooth, so I think everyone was satisfied.
After Abby went to bed with the recently-displaced tooth tucked securely under her pillow, Joe and I began to wonder what we should do with all of her teeth. I promise you I will not put a toothless picture of my child up every time a tooth makes its exit, but we were facing a conundrum, of sorts, about what to do with them all.
While I was googling something like, "what to do with all the missing teeth," Joe was talking to me about something he had seen--a necklace for lost teeth.
That snapped me out of my google-induced stupor! Yikes! A necklace made out of lost teeth?? What are we, tribal cannibals?!
Well, turns out what I heard as necklace he said as keepsake box, or something like that. But still, could you imagine your parents presenting you with a necklace of all your lost baby teeth?? EEEEK!
I am also having a hard time imagining that we need to keep ALL of her teeth, but I understand the importance of at least keeping the first one. I equally couldn't imagine being presented with a box of all the baby teeth I lost as a child. What do you do with something like that, besides wonder if your parents are off their rockers?
So, do any of you have suggestions for keeping a baby tooth--just one? And don't mention any necklaces, please!
Well, today was one of those very rare days that, when they come along, I try to take advantage of them.
I slept well and until a decent hour, I had nothing on the calendar, the weather was perfectly splendid,
I was somewhat caught-up on the laundry (Gasp! I know, right?) and my house was pretty clean. For my standards, anyway.
After I went to the gym (Yeesh! Exercising after vacation and being out of it for 3 weeks is HARD!) I took the girls to picnic and to play in the park.
We took our time over lunch, and played (and got filthy) in the sand. Abby mastered the monkey bars--and wants you all to know about it.
The girls climbed and played and had a great, albeit dirty, time.
We ended our day with Sonic cherry slushes and a vanilla diet coke and the windows open driving home. Fabulous! It is supposed to get colder later this week, so I am happy to take advantage of this rare convergence of events that allows us a
do-nothing, relaxing, no agenda,
good day.
Happy Monday!

What a fun Monday! I think my mom put them in a ziplock bag and then threw them away! Ha!
