An Obsession, {Some Cuteness}, and A Giveaway!

I've said it before, but I have some of the coolest friends. They can actually make things,

like,

from scratch.

A pile of scraps, a needle and some thread spontaneously combine to create a pillow or curtains or a couch slipcover.

They are the type of people who can see a gorgeous {expensive} table in the Pottery Barn catalog and say,

"I'll just make that myself!" and off they go to a yard sale or junk yard or goodwill store and create a table masterpiece from what was once a lump of shabby wood.

Or they will see some charming Pottery Barn plates (can you tell I am going through a Pottery Barn obsession much? Wheee!) and find those same style plates for waaaay less moolah while they are out antiquing on a Saturday.

Me? I just end up paying full price for a new table and new plates {from Pottery Barn, please!}and make my husband weep at the cost.

Like I said, I have lots of these friends, and when I am around them I just have to stick up my chin

and grin

and saaaaaaay...

I am good at...other things. Right?

Well, one of these cool gals is my friend Cha Cha at The Heartfelt Home. {Can I say how neat it is that I have a friend named Cha Cha??) She recently began using her talents to start her own Etsy store, Cha Cha's Treasures.

Yay for her! How thrilling it is to be able to put to use the things you enjoy and are good at to begin a business. {She is also a busy mom of two!}

One day I am sure I will start a business with the...other things in which I excel. Until then,

I am more than pleased to introduce you to Cha Cha and her creations.  She always inspires me, even though I don't know how to thread a needle, or what a bobbin is, or how to modge podge or sand or prime or paint.

{I have a sewing machine. It is still sitting in its box on the top shelf of the closet. That counts for something, surely.}
